DC Kathua hands over PM Sneh Patra to enrolled children

 

KATHUA : Deputy Commissioner, Kathua today presented the letter of benefits (PM Sneh Patra) to one child enrolled under the PM Cares for Children scheme.

The scheme entails a whole gamut of benefits to support the children who have lost their parents or legal guardian to Covid 19 pandemic.

The Folder contains Letter from PM; SNEH PATRA (certificate of PM CARES); PM CARES for children Passbooks; Health Card of Ayushmann Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and gifts for the children.

The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 29, 2021 as part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

This will ensure that the welfare and best interests of Covid affected children are protected.

CPO Uttam Singh, District Child Protection Officer, Abdul Rahim and Officials from DCPU (District Child Protection Unit), CWC (Child Welfare Committee) and Legal Cum Probationary Officer were also present.

The DC said that the objective of the scheme was to ensure comprehensive care and protection of children in a sustained manner by providing them boarding and lodging, empowering them through education and scholarships, equipping them for self-sufficient existence with financial support of Rs 10 lakh on attaining 23 years of age and ensuring their wellbeing through health insurance. He informed that a portal “pmcaresforchildren.in” was also launched to register the children.

Pertinently, the portal is a single window system which facilitates approval process and all other assistance for children.
