DC Kathua inaugurates awareness cum training program for formation of All Women FPO

KATHUA : Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today inaugurated an awareness-cum -training program for formation of maiden all Women Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) here at Hiranagar.

The Program witnessed participation of over 250 females associated with mushroom and spice cultivation. The participants were educated about technical aspects related to formation and smooth functioning of FPO.

An interactive session was also held wherein the queries raised by the participants were explained by the DDM NABARD.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC expressed hope that women folk of the border belt of Hiranagar will take full benefit of the FPOs Scheme launched by the government of India. He said that the District Administration will extend all possible help and provide due hand-holding through concerned departments viz NABARD and JKDCUL to make all Women FPO a resounding success.

The DC said that with the coming up of an all women FPO, the local women will get the opportunity to create their own brand and learn the know-how about entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors.

Amit Kumar (DDM, NABARD) & Vikrant Dogra (head of JKDCUL) gave a detailed presentation to the potential members of FPO and discussed rights and duties of new members under FPO guidelines.

Among others, the Officers from Agriculture & allied departments were also present on the occasion.
