DC Kishtwar inaugurates 10 Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme for 42 Tejaswini beneficiaries
KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today inaugurated 10 day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) being organised by Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), here at ITI campus.
Inaugural session was also attended by AD, Employment Department Kishtwar, Amit Kumar, Principal ITI Kishtwar Mandeep Dogra, Employment Officer Waseem Hassan Khan,Trainer from JKEDI Rubaan Fayaz, Course Coordinator MS Sofia Nasreen along with other officials from JKEDI.
The training program is being conducted for the approved applicants of Tejaswini Scheme which is a Mission Youth Initiative and is being implemented by DE&CC Kishtwar in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar motivated the participants to start their business units to generate income for themselves besides helping to improve the per capita income of the district as a whole.
He also added that the sole aim of entrepreneurship development schemes like Tejaswini is to make unemployed youth, particularly women self-reliant and independent. He appealed the participants to avail this opportunity and set up their units as per the scheme guidelines without any deviation of funds.
On the occasion, AD Employment & Employment Officer DE&CC Kishtwar briefed the audience about the Tejaswini Scheme and other Mission youth initiatives.
As for as the Tejaswini is a Scheme is concerned, it is pertinent to mention that the scheme have been rolled out to empower women by providing financial support of upto Rs 5.00 lacs as Mudra Loan for setting up gainful self-employment ventures. 10% of project cost of upto Rs 50,000 will be provided by Mission Youth (MY). Interest component of upto Rs 60,000 shall also be sponsored by MY.
Any women in the age group of 18-35yrs possessing matriculation qualification & above are eligible for availing the scheme.
So far 42 cases have been approved in the district by the District Level Implementation Agency headed by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
The EDP will conclude on March 29, 2022 & the applicants will be provided with Certificates and their case will be sponsored to Banks for sanction and disbursal.
