DC Kupwara inspects construction site of GMC Handwara; Asks concerned to speed up tendering process

 

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited the construction site of Government Medical College (GMC) at Handwara.

On the occasion, the DC took a detailed appraisal of the site plan for the construction of GMC. He was informed that the project costs Rs.255 crore and has 213 kanals of land in possession. The hospital when completed shall have capacity of 100 Admissions at a time.

The DC directed the concerned officers to speed up the tendering process of the project.

During the inspection of the site, the DC directed the concerned officers for proper demarcation and walling of the proposed land.

Meanwhile, the DC expressed his gratitude to the people of Handwara for their best cooperation for providing land for the prestigious project which is a great success for the people of the remote and frontier district Kupwara. He said that the benefits of this mega project will percolate down to the local people of the area.

He also appealed to the people present at the occasion to follow Covid appropriate behaviour, ensure usage of masks and sanitizers and maintain social distance to avoid any possible escalation in COVID cases.

DDC member Rajwar, Suliman Mir; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Engineers of R&B and other concerned officers were present at the occasion.
