DC Ramban inaugurates Self Defense Training programme for Girls
RAMBAN : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam today inaugurates Self Defense Training programme for Girls organized by the Education Department under Samagra Shishka, here at Government Girls High School.
Chief Education Officer Vinod Koul; Head Master Mohammad Amjad; DNO Roohi Kundal and other staff members were also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that elaborate training will be imparted to girl students who are studying in 9th to 12th class to teach them certain skills for self protection and self-development.
While interacting with the participants, the DC said that it is important to provide self-defence training to each and every girl student in the schools to ensure their personal safety and security. Self-Defense training is a life skill that helps girls to be more aware of their surroundings and be prepared for the unexpected at any time, he added.
The DC said that the self defence training helps the girls to become psychologically, intellectually and physically strong enough to protect themselves in times of distress.
The DC advised the girl students not to think of only common career options only but other options as well like entrepreneurship which is a noble profession to serve society and nation. He advised them to read the newspaper daily.
The DC also sensitized the youth about various government employment and other financial assistance schemes and urged them to avail maximum benefits of such schemes.
