DC Ramban reviews implementation of PMMSY, Blue Revolution schemes
Ramban: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY) and Blue Revolution scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by ACD, Zameer Ahmed Rishu; CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal; District Panchyat Officer (DPO), Sunil Buthyal; Assistant Director Fisheries, Bharat Bushan; Chief Agriculture Officer, Farooq Ahmed; District Agriculture Officer, District Lead Bank Manager, and Assistant Professor Zoology from GDC Ramban, AEE, Jal Shakti and progressive Fish Farmers of the district.
DC informed the meeting that PMMSY and Blue Revolution schemes are flagship programmes launched with the purpose to augment the fish production, create employment avenues and welfare of the fishermen community and fish farmers.
The scheme envisages the establishment of Fish Raceways and Ponds, Trout Hatcheries, Housing and Insurance for fishers and Trout Feed Mills.
On the occasion, the District Level Committee approved 38 Low Cost Houses in favour of eligible fishermen including 24 from general, 6 from SC and 8 from ST category under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY) and Blue Revolution scheme. The beneficiaries would be provided Rs. 1.30 Lakh each in three installments.
Meantime a draw of lots was held and the final beneficiary list was formulated to construct 05 Trout Raceways for the current year 2020-21 under Private sector. It was informed that Rs. 80,000 would be provided to beneficiaries of general caste whereas Rs. 1, 20, 000 to SC beneficiaries for the same.
