DDC Doda holds meeting with Markazi Seerat committee, Religious Cleric’s

Doda: The District Development Commissioner Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today urged the general public of the district to suspend congregational prayers on forthcoming Shab-I-Qadir, Jumat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr as a precautionary measure to combat the spread of COVID-19.
The DDC made these remarks during the meeting with the members of Markazi Seerat committee and religious clerics of the Doda town to discuss precautionary measures to be taken on forthcoming festivities to effectively deal the Covid-19 situation.
He urged upon religious clerics and members of Markazi Seerat committee Doda to sensitize the general public about the importance of social distancing and other precautions in current situation of Covid-19 pandemic.
The DDC also lauded the role of Imams and members of Markazi Seerat committee in sensitizing the masses to pray at home during the holy month of Ramadhan. While briefing the clerics about the measures to be taken for peaceful celebration of festivities, the DDC said that although district administration has taken all strict measures to combat the spread of virus but it is obligatory upon people to cooperate with the district administration and assist it in its efforts to defeat this global pandemic.
He urged upon people to offer prayers on forthcoming festivities at their homes and added that social distancing is critical to containing Corona virus spread.
The DDC also urged for maintaining social distance, observing total lock down and adopting other related advisories to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Among others the meeting was attended by SSP Doda, Mumtaz Ahmed, Dy SP DAR and other concerned.
