DDC Rajouri asks BRO to ensure maintenance of roads
Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Saturday asked the Border Roads Organization to ensure maintenance of roads under its supervision.
Chairing a joint meeting of district administration and the senior functionaries of the Border organization, the DDC said that a number of public complaints have been received about the dilapidated condition of the roads and asked the BRO to take corrective measures at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf; Commander 13 BRTF -56 APO, RK Garag and Commander 31 BRTF 56 APO, JN Prasad.
The DDC further directed the BRO to erect crash barriers along both the sides of the Rajouri to Thanamandi road. He also informed the meeting that the District Administration Rajouri has decided to carry on tree plantation along the Rajouri – Thanamandi road and the work of plantation shall be carried out jointly by Horticulture and Forest Department. He asked the Assistant Commissioner Revenue to carry out the process of demarcation of the said road. He further directed the concerned authorities of BRO to clear the pendency in terms of the awards of the villages at the earliest.
