Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan on Wednesday visited Kandi area of Koteranka block and inspected the proposed site for construction of Government Degree college Koteranka campus.
The DDC was accompanied by the BDC Chairperson Budhal Old-B, Javed Iqbal Chowdhury and Tehsildar Koteranka, Hakim Shah.
Pertinently, the present site was proposed after the earlier one at Kandi village was rejected as unsuitable by an expert team of the Geology and Mining Department.
The alternate site measuring 41 kanal was identified by the revenue department on the instruction of DDC.
The DDC was informed that the work on the project is to be executed by the JKPCC Department at an estimated cost of Rs 13.00 crore. The JKPCC was asked to start the work on the project within one week to benefit the students at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the DDC also paid a visit to the Government Middle School Hubi and interacted with the students and the school staff.
