DDC Ramban resolves bottlenecks impeding progress, reviews maintenance of road, pace of work

Ramban: District Development Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan today convened a meeting of officers, representatives of NHAI and construction agencies to resolve land acquisition and other issues besides reviewing the progress on a prestigious Jammu-Srinagar four laning project.
Issues related to maintenance of existing highway, blacktopping and sprinkling of water on road at construction sites to minimize pollution and ensuring hassle free vehicular movement especially during the ensuing winter season were discussed in detail
ADC, Ashok Sharma; Project Director (PD) NHAI, Parshotam Kumar; SDM, Ramsu, Banihal, Tehsildar besides officers of concerned departments attended the meeting.
The DDC asked the construction agencies to station adequate man and machinery including crans and excavators at all identified vulnerable locations to deal with emergency situations.
He reviewed section wise progress on four-laning of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway including Nashri-Ramban and Ramban-Banihal and set the timeline for the same.
He directed the Executive Engineer, TLMDL to ensure shifting of identified towers to safer places so that road construction work can be completed. He also directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth passage of the traffic by proper maintenance of the road at all crucial spots.
Highlighting the importance of prestigious National Highway four -laning project, the DDC resolved most of the issues on the spot and assured the companies full possible support from district administration.
He asked the officers to immediately resolve the bottlenecks and issues in their areas of jurisdiction highlighted by the construction agencies.
The DDC directed the agencies to adhere to the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal and conditions of the contract agreement to avoid criminal proceedings.
Agencies were also directed to enhance water sprinkling on the road to minimize the dust besides dumping the muck at only identified dumping yards.
