DDC Udhampur conducts public outreach camp in remote Panchayat

Udhampur: To monitor the status and progress of ongoing developmental works being executed by the PMGSY, R&B, RDD and other departments and to redress the public grievances, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Piyush Singla along with senior officers of district administration conducted an extensive tour of remote areas of Sub –Division Chenani.
On the way, the DDC also took stock of PMGSY roads from Moud to Pattan, inspected the execution work of Degree College, Agriculture building and other projects.
The DDC stressed on early completion of these roads with maintenance of quality of the work. He said that roads are key to the development of economy of an area.
The DDC asked the R&B Department to expedite the work on Degree College Chenani, while PMGSY department was asked to complete the ongoing projects within the given time frame. Directions were issued to concerned officers to gear up men and machinery for effective and timely completion of these developmental projects.
Later, the DDC held public grievances redressal camp at Panchayat Gharian where public and elected representatives of more than 15 Panchayats participated.
Sarpanchs, Panchs and the people of adjoining Panchayats projected scores of demands and problems, They demanded black topping of roads, PMAY survey to cover left out beneficiaries, meeting shortage of doctors in dispensary, Construction of school buildings, Completion of foot bridge from Nagulta to Rayar, resolving the Low voltage problem, Establishment of bank branch at a central place, Ultrasound machine in PHC Matlowa , augmentation of drinking water, inclusion of the area on tourism map, Up gradation of primary and middle school, improvement of internal- roads, ration cards to left out families etc.
The BDC Chairperson along with all the Sarpanchs of Block Chenani thanked DDC for sanction of bridge over river Tawi, which was long pending demand of the area.
After listening the problems and demands of the people, the DDC directed the officers concerned to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority. He stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and sincerity and redress genuine grievances of the people pertaining to their respective departments at their level within the specified time frame. He also assured people for speedy redressal of the problems of the adjoining areas.
The DDC emphasized that newly sanctioned bridge will play a pivotal role in developmental of these areas. He appreciated the role and coordination of Sub-Divisional Administration and PRIs and ensured that all their genuine demands will be resolved on priority.
The DDC stressed on availing the benefits under beneficiaries’ oriented schemes. He added that a number of schemes are launched by Government for economically weaker sections. He directed the concerned departments to organize special camps for coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.
The local representatives also appreciated the working of Tehsil, Sub –Division and District Administration and public friendly initiative of District Administration by sanctioning bridge amounting to Rs. 9.37 crore over river Tawi.
Meanwhile, the DDC inspected PHC Matlowa and Chenani –Pattan Garh road and also interacted with the local people and listened to their grievances. He directed Xen PMGSY to expedite the work on the PMGSY projects and submit daily progress report and take strict action against the erring contractors, if any . The Xen PMGSY was also asked to include the unconnected areas on core network.
Among others present were BDC Chairman, Parkash Chand, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, SE R&B, Shakti Sagar, SDM Chenani, Abdul Sattar, DIO, Er Sajad Somberia, District Social Welfare Officer, Priyanka Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Subash Sharma, Xen PMGSY, Dayal Digra and other Tehsil and Sub division level officers of all the departments were also accompanied during the tour.
