DDC reviews implementation of social sector schemes at Kulgam

 

KULGAM : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers of ICDS, Social Welfare, Labour and FCS&CA departments to review the status of various social sector schemes in vogue through these departments.

During the meeting, DSWO informed the chair that 29,963 beneficiaries are receiving the benefit under ISSS and 5,236 beneficiaries are receiving benefits under NSAP in the district.

It was also informed that during the year 2020-21, an amount of Rs. 13.15 crore was disbursed through DBT mode under various minority scholarships schemes in the district.

Besides, 3200 beneficiaries have been covered under state marriage assistance scheme and an amount of Rs. 12.80 crore stands disbursed among these beneficiaries, under PMMVY 1684 beneficiaries have benefited so far.

AD, FCS&CA informed the meeting that under PMGKY, 24,933 quintals of free ration was distributed among beneficiaries during the months of May and June. He also informed the meeting that the district has achieved 99 percent Aadhar seeding of beneficiaries.

Assistant Commissioner Labour while briefing the meeting about the status of various schemes of the department apprised the DDC that an amount Rs. 4.49 crore was disbursed under various schemes which includes lower and higher education assistance, Major ailments/ Chronic diseases and Covid-19 assistance.

The DDC directed ALC to start registration of interstate migrant labourers who are working in district jurisdiction.

The meeting was attended by DPO, DSWO, ALC, AD FCS&CA and other officers.
