DELEGATES FROM EIGHT COUNTRIES VISIT BHU, EXPRESS DESIRE TO COLLABORATE IN AREAS OF MUTUAL INTEREST

VARANASI : A 27 member international delegation comprising representatives from Argentina, Botswana, Canada, Ukraine, Hungary, Indonesia and Japan visited Banaras Hindu University on Friday. The delegation also had 6 members from India. The visit under the Gen-Next Democracy Network Programme of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and upon the invitation of Vice-Chancellor Prof Sudhir K Jain, comes as part of BHU’s global outreach. Prof. Jain has been laying great focus on enhancing Banaras Hindu University’s international visibility and partnerships. The delegates included young members of political parties (both ruling and opposition), entrepreneurs and rising leaders in their respective countries. Prof. N. V. Chalapathi Rao, Coordinator of International Collaborations, conducted an interactive meeting with the delegation on BHU – its legacy, role in contributing to India’s growth and opportunities available. The delegates showed keen interest in knowing more about BHU’s achievements and progress in various areas like innovation, inter-disciplinary studies and research among others. They also queried about the international students studying in BHU. The members expressed their desire to collaborate in different areas of mutual interest with BHU in the near future.
