Department of Economics Celebrates India’s G20 Presidency

 

Aligarh : The Department of Economics at AMU is busy in the celebration of India’s G20 Presidency through student engagement activities, notably the Debate and Poster Making Competitions aligned with the G20 theme. The Debate focused on the theme “Impact of Digital India Initiatives on Indian Economy,” while the Poster Making Competition centered on “Climate Change.”

 

Prof. Md. Abdus Salam, the department’s Convener and Chairman, briefed the manifold benefits of India’s G20 Presidency. He expressed confidence in India’s potential to emerge as a dynamic force among the G20 nations, attributing this to the nation’s flourishing economy and robust trajectory.

 

The Debate Competition witnessed Mohd. Adil Iqubal (MA I Semester) & Amaan Beg (BA I Semester) clinching the prestigious first prize, followed by Arsalan Haque (BA V Semester) & Maziya Pervez (BSc III Semester) securing the second place. Notably, Sarim Ayyub (BA III Semester) & Ashmil Shas Ahammad (BA III Semester) took the third position, while Neha Qadeer (MA I Semester), Rashid Khan (BA III Semester), Habibur Rahman (BA V Semester), and Mohd Gulfam (BA V Semester) were recipients of well-deserved consolation prizes.

 

The Poster Making Competition showcased Himanshu Yadav (BA V Semester) and Md. Farid Alam (BA III Semester) as winners of the first prize, closely followed by Md. Izhar Alam (BA V Semester) securing the second position. Amaan Beg (BA I Semester) and Mohd. Shamsul Islam (BA III Semester) were duly honored with the third prize, while Deepak Pundir (BA V Semester) earned the consolation prize.

 

Total of 40 exceptional prizes, encompassing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and consolation prizes, were presented to the outstanding participants of the competitions. The faculty members of the Department of Economics, AMU, were honored to bestow these acknowledgments.
