Dept of Pharmacology to organise international conference
Aligarh: Experts from across the country and abroad will deliberate on a number of topics related to ethnopharmacology, tribal medicine, non-documented medicines, ethnomedicine, and other allied sciences at the two-day, international conference on ‘Ethnopharmacology and VI Annual Meeting of Society for Indian Medical Anthropologists’ starting from February 13 at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman, Organising Secretary of the conference said: “The deliberations in the conference by experts from USA, Indonesia, Bangladesh and France and various parts of the country will help in drafting policies for medical anthropology in general and ethnomedicine in particular.”
Winners of the oral and poster presentations will be judged on the quality of their evidence based research.
Meanwhile, the Department of Pharmacology will also mark AMU centenary year celebrations with an Alumni Meet on February 12.
Dr Jameel Ahmad, Coordinator of the Almuni Meet said that a large number of alumni from various parts of India and abroad have registered to participate in the meet.
