DG GSI urges officials of GSI to contribute 1 day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund set up to fight COVID-19
Kolkata : Shri M. Sridhar, Director General of Geological Survey of India has urged the willing officials of the Geological Survey of India to contribute 1 day’s salary from the pay bills of April 2020 towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund set up to fight the situations arising in the country after the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
He, in his appeal to the GSI officials, said, “In this difficult situation, all of us should stand united to deal with the crisis and strengthen the hands of Government of India. As always done, GSI shall do its bit in the fight against the COVID-19. In this regard, it is an appeal to all the members of GSI family to come forward and contribute generously to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). Members of GSI family, who are willing to contribute at least one day’s salary from the pay bills of April 2020, can give their consent to the concerned Heads of Office.”
Shri. Sridhar requested all the HODs and Deputy Director Generals of 6 different regions to implement the same in their respective regions. These contributions to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund are 100% exempted from Income Tax under section 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961.
