DGP Punjab & Legendary Gurdas Maan released LPU Alumna Dr Shruti Shukla’s Social Novel ‘Padma’
Jalandhar: State Coordinator Guidance Bureau-Cum-Deputy Director SCERT (Punjab) and Alumna of Lovely Professional University (LPU), Dr Shruti Shukla has come out with her maiden social novel ‘Padma’ to strengthen the bonds of relations in families. The release ceremony for her maiden book was organized at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of LPU, where Director General of Police (Punjab) Suresh Arora and the legendary figure in the Punjabi music world Gurdas Maan were Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Both of them were specially invited for the occasion as both are considered ‘men of values’ in their respective fields. A large number of academicians, journalists, administrators, officers and students witnessed the release ceremony. The book in the form of a biography is based on the strong and mutual loving relations between mother-in-law ‘Padma’ and daughter-in-law ‘Shruti’-the author herself.
Each and everyone appreciated the endeavour of Dr Mrs. Shruti Shukla, wife of Inspector General of Police Arpit Shukla, who has always made significant impact through her various initiatives- be the field of environment saving, or spreading education, or allied social awakenings. This time she has stepped ahead with many social messages imbibed in the words of each chapter of her novel ‘Padma’. Appreciating Dr Shruti’s creation, DGP Arora remarked it as a changed and rightful definition for relation between a daughter and mother in law. Such kind of educational dissemination is strong weapon to bring change in the society. Gurdas Maan considered the book as a gift to all so that through strength in the family society, nation and the world may exist in prosperity.
Welcoming DGP Arora and Gurdas Maan and all other guests, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal informed that the book is specially written to bring a great social reform as in present days more cases in the courts are matrimonial ones, which arise only out of misunderstandings in relations.
During panel discussion about her socially useful creation, multi-talented, Dr Shruti shared: “Without caring about any choice of words, style, alliterative language, similes or metaphors; this book is true depiction of relations with my mother in law ‘Padma’, right through my heart and soul. I have shared my story with all of my readers so that they may carry strong messages contained herein to save their relations on the verge of breaking, if any. Each page of this book is illustrating my 16 years with my mother in law to share how mutually caring we both had been for each other throughout in these years. I realized that now a day elder ones in the families are ignored and they are compelled to lead an isolated and deserted dreary life. This book is certain to inspire them to have shine in their relations with them. My mother in law never wanted to be fragrant being immersed in scents, she always wanted to be a fragrance full character to sweeten life of all around her. ”
Elite Guests present on this occasion included ADGP Kuldeep Singh, ADGP Chandigarh BK Bawa, Commissioner Jalandhar Division Raj Kamal Chaudhary, DC Jalandhar Varinder K Sharma, DC Kapurthala Mohammed Taib, Lovely Group Chairman Ramesh Mittal, Vice Chairman Naresh Mittal, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal, Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal, Director Evergreen Publications Rajesh Chopra, DIG Jalandhar Jaskaran Singh, SSPs of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Khanna & Nawan Shahar, Col Ashwani Kumar and many more. Author Dr Shruti Shukla thanked all for making the release ceremony a mega event by their motivational presence.
