DHEW team holds sensitisation Session for Girls of Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel

 

RAJOURI : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women today organised an awareness program at Gujjar and Bakerwal Girls Hostel – Nagrota.

District Hub for Empowerment of Women, (Erstwhile MSK) headed by Dr. Anum Mirza Women Welfare Officer, explained in detail the benefits of women centric schemes like Sukanaya Samridhi yojna, Tejaswini scheme, Janani Suraksha Yojna, saksham scheme, LG super 75 coaching, Ujjwala scheme, women safety laws, women helpline no. 181, child helpline number 1098, besides scholarships available at different levels of education.

Nazma Sheikh, District Coordinator, DHEW laid emphasis on the importance of education for girls. Further, the team addressed the gathering about the BBBP campaign launched to strengthen the Girls and social assistance being provided to women in distress, through One Stop Centre for Women.

The team also stressed upon containing high dropout rate among girl students which is a hindrance in the path of their development.
