DIG Udhampur inaugurates Range level U-19 Cricket premier Tournament
Udhampur: To provide youth a platform and channelize their energy, Udhampur Police today organised a Range level U-19 Cricket Tournament here at Government PG College.
Sujit Kumar, DIG Udhampur -Reasi Range, inaugurated the Range level (inter district) Tournament organised under Civic action programme (CAP) in presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur Sargun Shukla.
The officers present at the opening ceremony, included Rajinder Kumar Katoch Additional SP Udhampur; Imtiaz Ahmed, SO RPHQ Udhampur; Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur; Nahim Ahmed, DySP DAR Udhampur; Prof. Ramesh Kumar Atri, PG College Udhampur; Shashi Sharma, Physical Director Govt PG College Udhampur, renowned personalities from Sports fraternity of District Udhampur, other Officers/Officials of Police/Sports department and members of civil society Udhampur.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and SSP Udhampur welcomed all the civil society members & participants of four teams(Devika Dare Devils, Pirpanjal Panther, Chenab Challangers & Trikuta Tigers) comprising of 16 players each drawn from district Udhampur & Reasi.
DIG exhorted upon the youth to take part in games and sports and encourage others to follow the same.
The participants were informed the best performing players shall be selected to compete at Zonal/UT Level irrespective of their teams, which will provide them a UT/National level platform.
