Director reviews functioning of Handicraft & Handloom department
Srinagar: After taking over the charge of Director Handicrafts and Handloom (H&H) Department Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmad Shah, today reviewed functioning of the department besides meeting several deputations.
Director, while taking stock of ongoing awareness camps being held in various parts of Kashmir division, stressed upon the district heads to make artisans aware about all welfare measures and schemes tailored for their socio-economic empowerment.
Interacting with a deputation of artisans from Sonpah Budgam, Director assured to link them with the buyers through social media platforms soon besides providing them direct market linkages.
Director was briefed about the role of various sections of the department besides was also informed that the Weavers Service Centre Srinagar has distributed solar light panels among 67 beneficiaries of Alstang cluster of Ganderbal district under National Handloom programme.
Later, Director met with several groups of employees and assured them that all their grievances would be looked into for redressal.
