District Administration Ganderbal commemorates ‘World Blood Donor Day’

Ganderbal: District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with Health Department Ganderbal Sunday organized a blood donation camp at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal to commemorate ‘World Blood Donor Day’ celebrated on 14 June every year.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, (Chairman District Red Cross Society) Shafqat Iqbal inaugurated the camp in presence of SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, CMO and other officials from district administration and health department.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the need creating awareness among masses regarding benefits of blood donation and said that blood donation besides saving lives of others also helps the donor live longer and in a healthier way.
The main objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among the common masses about the misconceptions and fear regarding blood donation in the society and simultaneously disseminate message on benefits of following SOPs regarding COVID-19 like using face masks, maintaining social distance and frequent hand washing.
The DC appealed to participants to spread the message of voluntary blood donation to every nook and corner of the district. A large number of volunteers also donated blood during the camp which was coordinated by a team of doctors from the Health department Ganderbal.
