District Level Kala Utsav competition organised in GMGHSS Rajouri

 

RAJOURI : To promote different arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of students, a district-level Kala Utsav competition was today organised here at Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Rajouri.

Students from different zones of the district including Rajouri, Thanamandi, Darhal, Peeri, Koteranka, Doongi, Baljarana and Manjakote participated in the competition.

Chief Education Officer, Gulzar Hussain; Principal DIET, Vinod Koul; Principal GMGHSS, Abdul Rouf Dar; District Culture Officer, Dr Alam Dar besides staff members of the Education Department attended the event.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the ministry of human resource development (MHRD), aimed at promoting different arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of students.

Interacting with the participants, the Chief Education Officer who was also the Chief Guest, threw light on the objective of organising the competition and said that such events encourage the students and provide them an opportunity to showcase their talents.

He said that Kala Utsav has been an instrumental festival for students of secondary level to understand and celebrate cultural diversity at the school, district, state and national levels.

The CEO also said that these extracurricular activities are important as they help students to become creative.

He also appreciated the students for their performance in the competition and appealed to them to keep participating in such cultural activities to explore, understand and showcase their artistic talent of practising different art forms.
