Jan Aushadhi Mitra Sammelan organised at District Hospital Udhampur


UDHAMPUR: Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, a noble initiative by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India is now making an impact on common masses in its endeavour to provide quality medicines at an affordable price.

The number of retail Kendras has grown to more than 8407, covering 736 Districts across the country.

To promote the scheme, a Jan Aushadhi Mitra Sammelan was organised today at District Hospital Udhampur Conference Hall with the aim to educate the general masses about the need of Jan Aushadhi Drugs which are available to the general public at cheaper rates.

Dr Jogeshwar Gupta, President MC Udhampur; Mohammad Syed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Dr. Harleen Chopra Microbiologist; Prof Dr. Vishal Tandon GMC Jammu; Renuka Raina Assistant Drug Controller Udhampur; Rakesh Sharma Councilor Ward No. 13; were the special guests at the Sammelan.

Dr. K.C. Dogra, Chief Medical Officer; Dr. Vijay Raina Medical Superintendent District Hospital , Doctors and medical staff were also present at the Sammelan .

Mohammad Syed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner spoke about the need of Jan Aushadhi Medicines and other essential drugs for the general public. Dr. Deepak Koul, Consultant Physician District Hospital delivered a lecture on the essential drugs and Jan Aushadhi drugs which are available at Jan Aushadhi Store of District Hospital at cheaper rates.

The main purpose of this Sammelan was to celebrate National Unity week being observed from October 24, 2021 to October 31, 2001 to commemorate Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, known as the Iron Man of India and the man behind the unification of India.

The occasion provides an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of the nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of the country. The day is meant to instill a sense of belonging to the nation in the hearts of every citizen of India.

Jan Aushadhi Mitras participated with the dress code of T-shirts and caps and along with special guests who also spoke about the glorious and eventful life of Sardar Patel and how his vision of the Nation is harmonious with the objective of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana.
