DLSA Srinagar, Pulwama observes Constitution Day/ National Law Day
Srinagar: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar and Pulwama today organised separate functions to celebrate Constitution Day/National Law Day at respective District Court Complex.
At Srinagar, the programme was presided over by Chairman DLSA, Srinagar and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Justice Abdul Rashid Malik.
On the occasion, Justice Abdul Rashid Malik highlighted the importance of Constitution Day and the need to uphold the constitution. He elaborated history, significance and features of the Constitution.
Other speakers who highlighted the importance of the Constitution and various features like preamble, fundamental rights and fundamental duties included Secretary, DLSA, Srinagar, Adnan Sayeed, Advocate Bisma Khan, Advocate Shuja Khan, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Sofi and Advocate Suhaila Ali.
Earlier, reading of the preamble of the constitution was held to celebrate Constitution Day in which all Judicial Officers and other staff members participated.
At Pulwama, Principal and Session Judge, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, P&SJ explained the aims, objectives and importance of the constitution of India and highlighted the Fundamental Rights and Duties of Citizens and the uniqueness of the Constitution due to its openness to differences and diversities, its acceptance and its commitment to social well-being of the country.
He said it is our responsibility to educate the people about values and precepts of the constitution.
On the occasion, preamble of the constitution was read by Khurshid-ul-Islam Secretary DLSA and pledge to the fundamental duties was also administered.
The function was attended by Additional District and Session Judge, Chairman TLSA, members of Bar Association, Lawyers, staff members, PLVs and other people.
