DLSA team inspects Bal Ashram in Bandipora

 

BANDIPORA, : A team of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora on Wednesday visited Bal Ashram to take stock of the services being provided to inmates.

Secretary DLSA, Fariqa Nazir said the visit was part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and was held under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mohammad Ibrahim Wani.

She said the team visited the MFI Bal Ashram which is being run from a rented private building having three spacious rooms. The team interacted with the superintendent Ashram, Rajeev Peshin, Protection officer namely Malik Tabina and Data Analyst Umeed Shafi.

The Ashram was found closed due to the examination of the childrens and shall start from 1st of Nov 2021 and a total of 55 admissions of Orphan children’s approximately are in this Ashram. Moreover they are identifying the children in need of protection in different villages of District Bandipora.

The secretary DLSA said that another Door to Door programme was conducted by District Legal Services Authority Bandipora, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bandipora and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sumbal at Bandipora villages namely Lankreshipora Bandipora and Kawapora Shadipora Sumbal Sonawari.

They also raised awareness regarding the rights of Childrens and identifying the orphan children in need of care and protection.
