DLSA Udhampur celebrates International women’s day
Udhampur: District Legal Services Authority Udhampur, today organized a Webinar to mark the celebration of International Women’s Day on the Theme “Choose to challenge”.
The programme held under the Chairmanship of M L Manhas (Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur) Chairman DLSA Udhampur and under the overall Supervision of Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour, was attended by judicial officers, Panel Lawyers, SSP Udhampur, BDOs of District Udhampur, Students and staff of Indira Memorial Higher Secondary School and Bhartiya College of Education.
The Programme started with the welcome address by Secretary DLSA. She threw light on the bravery, strength & accomplishments of Women.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLSA Udhampur highlighted the various aims & objectives of Women’s Day Celebration and said that each day is a women’s day because women are working round the clock whether at home or workplace.
Highlighting various issues of women folk, Munsiff JMIC, Kamiya Singh Andotra said that Women are the backbone of human Civilization.
Munsiff Chenani, Amandeep Kour said although everyday should be Women’s Day, yet we celebrate their bravery, their accomplishments, strength by dedicating one day entirely to them.
SSP Udhampur, Sargun Shukla also presented her views on the multifarious topics pertaining to women rights and said ‘We all should collectively make efforts to support women globally.’
BDO Latti, Ruhi Khajuria & BDO Narsoo Sofia Akhtar presented their views on gender equality and said all the stakeholders of the society should work for achieving gender equality.
Poetess, Rekha Thakur recited her thought provoking poems on the subject. Others who spoke on the occasion were students of Indira Memorial Higher Secondary School and Bhartiya college of Education, Udhampur.
The Programme ended with the vote of thanks of Sub Judge Secretary, DLSA Udhampur Sandeep Kour.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Raman Gupta. Besides DLSA Udhampur, Tehsil legal Services Committee’s Ramnagar, Majalta and Chenani also celebrated the day with great zeal and enthusiasm
