Doda, Samba receive 1st batch of Covishield vaccine
Samba: Several districts of Jammu Division today received the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine(Covishield) from the health department.
Like in other parts of the country, the first phase of vaccination would start with the immunization of frontline health workers from January 16.
District Doda received 1950 doses of Covishield vaccine which was stored at the District cold chain from where it will be distributed to the GMC Doda and CHC Bhaderwah.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode; Additional Superintendent of Police, Master Popsy, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Yaqoob Mir, Medical Superintendent, Associated Hospital GMC Doda, BMO Ghat, District Immunization Officer, District Epidemiologist, received the vaccine at Ganpat Bridge.
At district Samba received its first phase consignment of Covid vaccines in the premises of DC office.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria while receiving the Covid vaccines at emergency control room established in DC office complex said that all necessary arrangements have been put in place beforehand.
“The vaccination drive in the district Samba shall be launched tomorrow at 2 stations viz District Hospital Samba and Community Health Centre Ramgarh for the immunization of frontline health workers in the first phases” added DC samba.
A team of district level task force for implementation of various preparatory activities related to introduction of Covid-19 vaccine has also been constituted in the district for ensuring smooth and peaceful vaccination programme in the district.
Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Jitender Mishra, Chief Medical Officer, Rajinder Samyal; District information officer, Ajay Sharma besides members of DLTF and other health and medical staff were also present.
