Dr Gill’s demise condoled

Aligarh: Dr T S Gill (retired faculty member, Department of Physics, Aligarh Muslim University) passed away recently in Amritsar where he settled after retirement.

Dr Gill was known to be a very sincere and considerate teacher who was instrumental in shaping the careers of the students.

Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor expressed a deep sense of sorrow on the sad demise of Dr Gill and prayed for solace for the bereaved family. He said, “Dr Gill was a simple, honest and thorough gentleman and will always be remembered by the AMU fraternity. May the departed soul rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and may God give them the strength to bear this loss”.

Dr Gill was very popular among his students and colleagues and always took part in extra-curricular development of his pupils. He was known for his punctuality and dedication and took great interest in the development of the department. He had great zeal for sports and led the Athletics Club of the university twice as its President. He actively took part in administration and served as Provost of NRSC during 2000-2002.

Dr Gill’s colleagues and students expressed grief on his demise saying he will always remain in their hearts for his kindness and humane nature.

Dr Gill is survived by wife, a daughter and a son.
