Dr Kotwal listens to people’s problems at Udhampur inaugurates completed assets

Udhampur: The urban public outreach ‘My Town My Pride ‘ programme concluded here in the Udhampur town amid massive participation of the locals.
Elected public representatives of Municipal Council and local people appreciated the visiting officers for reaching them at their doorsteps and taking note of their basic requirements.
The Visiting officer for Udhampur MC , Dr. Pawan Kotwal (FC Revenue) had an elaborate meeting with Councillors led by the MC President.
The Councillors of different wards highlighted their demands like parking space, shortage of drinking water, traffic congestion, widening of roads, shortage of doctors in hospitals, construction of bus stand and transport nagar, deputation of technical staff in Municipality, two ration depots in each ward, creation of parking space in Udhampur town, stray dog menace, operationlization of modern slaughter house etc.
After giving patient hearing to the problems and demands of the ULB members, the FC assured of early mitigation of the genuine problems of the Public of the town.
Dr Kotwal said that the objective of this programme is to see the implementation and impact of government schemes on ground and empowerment of Urban Local Bodies. He said that all demands of ULB members are registered and bifurcated into long term, midterm and short term categories. He said that UT Administration is committed to fulfill all the demands of public on priority. He added that My Town My Pride is a unique programme of UT Administration which aims for the joint efforts of public, government and local administration for resolution of public issues .
Dr. Kotwal stressed on strengthening of Urban Local Bodies, capacity building of representatives of ULB, planning of urban development, establishment of modern slaughter house, Municipal Solid Waste Management. He stressed on Councillors to extend the support for execution of Devika project which will mitigate the problems of Udhampur town to a large extent adding to its beauty.
On concluding day different benefits under beneficiary oriented schemes were also distributed among the beneficiaries, like Installment under PMAY (U), IHHL, Sanction letter under PMEGS by the banks, funds to SHGs.
Dr. Kotwal also inaugurated a house constructed under PMAY (U). The visiting officer also visited J&K Bank branch and inspected the service being provided to the customers, visited District Hospital Udhampur along with DDC Dr Piyush Singla and interacted with staff and hospital management and reviewed its working.
Similarly, at Ramnagar and Chenani a series of activities were carried out during the day where visiting officers listened to the public grievances.
