Dr Sudan reviews preparedness of Paediatric COVID-19 task force

JAMMU: Meeting of Paediatric COVID-19 task force under the chairpersonship of Dr.Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal GMC Jammu was held today to review preparation for the 3rd wave of COVID-19 Pandemic.

Guidelines and requirements as ‘Operationlisation of COVID care services for children and adolescents’ were presented before the committee by Dr. Sanjiv Digra, Prof. Department of Paediatrics.

The Committee members discussed the recommendations and the engineers presented the status of ongoing works at SMGS, MCH, GMCH, SSH and DRDO Hospitals.

The Principal GMC shared details about the training of human resources in GMC and AH. She said the training is going on at multiple levels and the plan is to train all the nurses and paramedical staff working in GMC and AH to face the 3rd phase of COVID 19 pandemic. Medical Superintendents were instructed to supervise the ongoing works for their timely completion as per the requirements. Further, they were directed to optimise the utilisation of staff working in Associated Hospitals.

The planning people were instructed to follow the proposals for capacity augmentation with the administrative Departments. The Engineers presented the status of works including oxygen generation plants, DPR for 2 more LMOs and readiness to take over the new emergency Block of GMCH.

The Principal instructed the executing agencies to complete the works in a time bound manner. The requirement of machinery, equipment and other items has been submitted to the JKMSCL and is being pursued vigorously.

The meeting was attended by Administrator AH, HODs, Medical Superintendents. Engineers, planning officers, Account Officers and other concerned officials.
