DSC Hosts its Annual Convocation’19 as Formal Adieu to PGDPC XXIII Batch

New Delhi: The Delhi School of Communication hosted its Annual Convocation’19 on Saturday 20th April for PGDPC degree conferral ceremony at Alliance de Francaise, Lodhi Estate. The chief guest, Mr. Nikhil Dey, Vice Chair, Weber Shandwick along with Dean Prof. Ramola Kumar awarded the degrees and medals to the entitled students and wished good luck for their career advancement. Mr. Rahul Makin, RJ, Fever 104 FM also graced the event as Guest of Honour; and Mr Ruchin Khanduja, Head – Marketing, Hindware was a special guest.
On the successful completion of Post Graduate Programme in Communication (PGDPC), scholars were congratulated and appreciated by industry veterans and dignitaries such as Mr. Saket Pathak, Director of 45 Degrees, Mr. Vivek Dutta, Executive Planning Director, Hakuhodo, and Mr. Manik Sehgal, Wunderman Thompson.
The ceremony commenced with Prof. Ramola Kumar’s warm welcome greetings followed by Mr. Nikhil Dey’s convocation address. ‘‘Whatever you become, always be a gentleman first,’’ he advised and added; “There are three things to live by in life which are— putting family first, prioritizing facetime and play to win versus playing not to loose’’. He congratulated DSC students and expressed the fact that “The world needs more caregivers” and advised them to be one.
Mr. Rahul Makin, RJ at Fever 104 FM motivated the students with his personal mantra of the ‘3Ds’ — Dream, Dare, and Do.
In the ceremony, the students were duly provided with the degree certificates of PGDPC XXIII programme. DSC’s PGDPC is a two-year course in which students are given a formal education and professional training in all fields of mass communication – Digital Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Entertainment and Branding.
As students’ academic journey at DSC has come to an end, meritorious graduating students were honored with various awards and medals in regards to their attainment of excellence. Prof. Ramola Kumar and Mr.Nikhil Dey rewarded Ms. Anusha Rawat, Ms. Ujjaini Ghosh, and Ms. Nidhi Keswani with gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively, whereas Ms. Shweta Dutt bagged the Surojit Lahiri Memorial Award for Holistic Excellence, DSC’s highest award.
The ceremony was concluded with the launch of the book, ‘Through the Woods,’ (collection of poem) written by Prof. Ramola Kumar.

Prof. Ramola Kumar, Dean at DSC, closed the ceremony saying, “At this proud moment, I heartily congratulate all the students for completing the very first phase of their academic journey. At DSC, we always brainstorm on innovative methodology, techniques, and internship programmes so that our students learn a million dollar worth knowledge of both professional life and personal development.”
“The communications industry has a fast-paced environment and companies are looking for only the fittest ones. We prepare our students to survive the stringent competition and make it to a successful future,” she further added.
The convocation ceremony concluded with refreshments and group photographs of the attendees.
