DSEJ hosts webinar on Afforestation

JAMMU : Directorate of School Education Jammu today organised a webinar on the topic ‘Afforestation: A step Towards Sustainable Future’ to inculcate a feeling of responsibility towards environment among the students and other stakeholders of the Directorate.

Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma addressed the audience about the importance of afforestation in today’s life and its role in promoting and maintaining the environment of schools and surroundings.

Krishan Kumar, IFS the guest speaker of the event discussed the present situation of forest cover in India, its decreasing impact on global warming, how to increase forest cover, school nursery yojana in schools, when and how to plant saplings in schools and over all scenario and its status.

Formal welcome address was presented by Dr. S P Pourush Shrikhandia, Head Coordination Cell, DSEJ and Dr. Dushyant Pradeep moderated the session. Ms. Shveta Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks on the occasion.
