Starting at Durham, changing the world
Our academics are changing the world through their pioneering research, tackling some of the major challenges facing society today.
For example:• We’re exploring how sniffer dogs could be trained to detect Covid-19;• Our space scientists are at the forefront of efforts to explain the mysteries of the universe; and• Our writers and poets are winning international acclaim for how they challenge the way we think about ourselves and the world around us.Our students benefit from transformative, research-led teaching and, through our Colleges, Durham Students’ Union and Experience Durham, a wider student experience that is second to none.
