Education New Zealand signs Education Cooperation Arrangement with GIFT City and IIM Ahmedabad, fosters commitment to India as a valued education partner

Reinforcing New Zealand’s commitment to India, Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ) has announced the signing of two Education Cooperation Arrangement with Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) and the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.

Announced during New Zealand-India Education Connect, this is a significant step forward in fostering education collaboration between New Zealand and India.

India is a valued education partner for New Zealand and the new partnerships have been designed to strengthen internationalisation initiatives between both countries.

The collaboration with GIFT City opens new avenues for knowledge sharing and collaborations in India’s greenfield smart city project.

The Education Cooperation Arrangement with IIM Ahmedabad will focus on joint research, mobility and partnership opportunities in the area of management, commerce, economics, and social sciences.

Speaking at the signings, Lisa Futschek, General Manager International, Education New Zealand, said, “India’s vision of the internationalisation of education and creating an inclusive education environment as part of its National Education Policy 2020, is a welcome move. India is one of New Zealand’s priority partner countries for collaborations, exchanges, and student mobility. And we, at Education New Zealand are excited to contribute to the transformative education landscape by providing an opportunity for students and faculty of both countries to collaborate and learn.”

Mr. Tapan Ray, Managing Director and Group CEO, GIFT City, said, “Through this MoU, we are keen to collaborate with ENZ to drive innovation and promote educational initiatives within the GIFT City ecosystem.”

The New Zealand-India Connect hosted a senior-level delegation of Education New Zealand and New Zealand universities, focusing on engagement between New Zealand universities and Indian institutions and partners in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Gujarat.
