Dr. Santrupt Misra is a role model for youth in Odisha and India as to how you can reach heights of multiple achievements despite humble beginnings. He worked and closely interacted with various strata and segments of society in different stages of his career including tribals, farmers, students, industry bodies, large corporations, trade unions and professional associations and NGOs. His area of expertise includes global business, transformation, people development; institution building and partnership management. He deeply cares for transforming lives of people, creating opportunity for them and for issues affecting quality of life and happiness of people such as the climate, health, employment and education etc.

His early life was spent in places like Nayagarh & Angul to name a few, where he experienced how limited opportunities restricted one’s ability to grow and made him determined to rely on hard work and best usage of whatever one got to become the achiever he became.

Born in Burla, he completed his high school from Secondary Board High School, Cuttack. A recipient of multiple gold medals for his academic achievements, Dr. Misra holds M.A. degrees in Politics and Personnel Management & I.R. from prestigious institutions like Utkal University and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Furthermore, his dedication to scholarly pursuits led him to earn dual Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Public Administration and Industrial Relations from Utkal University & Aston Business School. He has also been conferred an Honori Causa Dr of Science Degree by Aston University, his Alma mater in the UK.

His foray into the corporate started in Rayagada ( what used to be a very remote place then ) with JK Paper and he reached the pinnacle of Aditya Birla Group globally. Odisha was the start of his career and he is keen on playing the last big league from Odisha only. His work with Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Hindustan Unilever Ltd kept him in close contact with young people and urban and rural consumers. His stint with the Aditya Birla Group brought him in close contact with mining communities, farmers, contract labourers, community members in remote areas and many different groups enriching his learning about India and its facets of challenges including that of Odisha. He has strong exposure to corporate governance in all forms and contemporary business issues such as sustainability , data privacy, intellectual property and business responsibility.

He has supervised numerous schools as part of his management role in the Aditya Birla Group and set up the Äditya Birla Public School in Bhubaneswar. He was also the Chairperson of NIT Rourkela and member Board of Governors of XIM, Bhubaneswar.

He’s the epitome of professional excellence. During his various professional roles in CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), as President of National HRD Network, and in roles with Govt bodies such as ONGC and Karmya Yogi Bharat, he played a crucial role in nation building.

Dr. Misra is currently the Chairperson of the Ekamra Development Project. He’s also a part of the Government of India’s significant project Karmayogi Bharat to build a Future Ready Civil Service equipped with the right Attitude, Skills, and Knowledge, aligned with the vision of New India.
