Eklavya Model Residential School National Sports Competition
As many as 3500 players of 250 schools of 23 states of the country will participate in the National Sports Competition of Eklavya Model Residential Schools to be organized from December 9 to 13. The players will give their best performance in 16 sports disciplines during the competition.
Including Madhya Pradesh, the students of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kasmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka,Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Orissa, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and west Bengal will take part in the National Sports Competition. Students of class 6 to 12 will take part in the competition. They have been divided in two age groups.
Sports like Hockey, Wrestling, Football, Archery, Volley-Ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hand-Ball, Swimming, Boxing, Basket Ball, Badminton, Taekwondo, Table Tennis and Athletics have been included in the competition. Along with the Tribal Welfare Department, cooperation of Tourism, Soprts and Youth welfare, District Administration, Police, Municipal Corporation, Culture and Public Relations Department is being taken to organize the successful competition. During the competition, folk dances will be showcased daily in the evening.
