Extend support in academic development of sainik families: Madhya Pradesh Governor
Bhopal : Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel said that the help of the society must be taken in the education and educational development of sainik families, especially the children of sainiks. Efforts should be made to get financial support by contacting financially sound families and educational institution management. Smt. Patel was addressing the 20th meeting of the Amalgamated Special Fund here today. Chief Secretary Shri S.R. Mohanty was also present in the meeting.
Governor Smt. Patel said that the sainiks are self-respecting. They will not demand help. We will have to make collective effort to help them. She told to take initiative for mass marriage of children of sainiks. This will give an opportunity to the society to show respect for the sainiks. She said that a book should be published comprising details of the difficult training, risk, sacrifice of the brave soldiers and make it available to the students.
The Governor said that every person in the society has a feeling of respect and gratitude towards the sainiks. A major section of the society is ready to support the families of the protectors of the borders. Planned efforts must be made in the direction of how support can be sought for sainik welfare and rehabilitation.
Honour for best contribution
The Governor honoured districts which exceeded the target for the Amalgamated Fund collection and those who collected one lump sum amount. Those who were honoured for collecting the highest amount include Narmadapuram and Bhopal division in the divisional level, Ex-servicemen Welfare Committee in the district level, Harda, Ujjain, Alirajpur, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Badwani, Chhindwara, Sheopur, Seoni, Gwalior, Betul, Jabalpur, Jhabua, Datia, Umaria, Dewas, Vidisha, Aagar, Shajapur, Singrauli, Indore, Sagar, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Hoshangabad, Tikamgarh, Katni, Raisen, Sehore, Dhar and Chhatarpur. Among those who were honoured for voluntary donation of more than Rs one lakh include Regional Manager, Central Bank, Sagar, JP Bina Thermal Power Plant Vice President Brigadier I.P.S. Soin (Retired), Managing Director of Bharat Oman Refinery Limited, Dr. D.P. Shrivastava of Prabhu Prasad Hospital, Dewas, General Manager of Ripples Advisory Pvt. Ltd. Indore Shri Amit Jaiswal, President of Navakar Social Welfare Society Bhopal Shri Neeraj Chaturvedi, Jan Abhiyan Vikas Parishad, Block Coordinator of Ujjain Smt. Meena Trivedi and Veer Mata of Bhopal Smt. Nirmala Sharma.
