Faculty of Agricultural Sciences Hosts One-Week Orientation Program

 

Aligarh : The Centre of Agricultural Education at Aligarh Muslim University’s Faculty of Agricultural Sciences has recently organized a one-week Orientation Program under RAWE (Rural Agriculture Work Experience) for B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture VII Semester students. The objective of the program was to equip students with practical insights and skills crucial for succeeding in modern agriculture.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Akram A. Khan, the Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. The event also saw the presence of Prof. Iqbal Ahmad, the Course Coordinator, and Dr. Faheem Ahamad, the organizing secretary. The orientation features a series of 18 lectures delivered by both external experts from Agricultural Universities and internal subject specialists from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

On day one Dr. Faheem Ahamad set the tone with a lecture on identifying plant diseases in field conditions due to various microbes. On August 14th, Prof. Iqbal Ahmad provided an introduction to RAWE, followed by a special talk by Prof. Akram A. Khan. His talk emphasized the scope and significance of the BSc Agriculture Course. Prof. Khan highlighted the necessity for skill development and hands-on training in modern agriculture and encouraged students to strive for excellence.

The event was attended by students of Agriculture VII Semester, who were guided by the presence of faculty members including Dr. Mohamad Awais, Dr. Tahir M. Chauhan, Dr. Md. Ramjan, Dr. Tufail Ahmad, Dr. Khan Bilal MA, and Dr. Rampal Singh.

Prof. Iqbal Ahmad extended a vote of thanks. The one-week orientation programme exemplifies the commitment of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences to provide holistic education, practical insights, and skill development opportunities.
