FIEO signs MoU with S.P. Mandali’s Prin. L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, (WeSchool)
Mumbai: Federation on Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) signed a MoU with S. P. Mandali’s Prin. L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, (WeSchool) Mumbai for launching a Post Graduate Programme in Foreign Trade Management (PGP-FTM) in Mumbai on 22nd April 2019.
The MoU was inked by Shri Khalid M Khan, Regional Chairman, FIEO (WR) and Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool.
Through this MoU, FIEO and WeSchool seek to collaborate with each other to initiate an Industry-Academia partnership; to jointly develop and deliver the Post Graduate Programme in Foreign Trade Management (PGP-FTM) which shall endeavour to develop the human capital for meeting the growing demand in International Trade ecosystem. The programme will broadly encompass the General Management Principles, Export Import Procedures, Foreign Trade Management Techniques and International Marketing Concepts.
The course will equally benefit professionals working in the area of International Trade and also students aspiring to pursue a career in Export or Imports.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Khalid M Khan, Regional Chairman, FIEO (WR) said that “Academia and Industry are two different worlds which are operating on different pedestals. Considering the every changing business environment and increase in demand for skilled and industry ready professionals, there is a felt need to develop a course that imparts both theoretical concepts and practical knowhow. FTM Programme aims bridge this gap.”
Commenting on the program, Prof. Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool said, “At WeSchool, we strongly believe in making our programs not only knowledge- driven but also market –driven; well aligned with the industry and the market specifics. Joining hands with FIEO would give the right industry exposure hence enhanced proficiency to the students who want to pursue careers in foreign trade. Also when they join the industry, they hit the ground running since they are already familiar with the prevailing trends.”
The duration of the programme will be 11 months. It will be offered in two batches i.e. evening classes from 6-8 pm on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend classes from 9am to 6 pm (Sunday). Qualified graduates from recognised University may apply for direct admission to the course. The first batch will commence from August 2019 onwards.
