Fit India Cyclothon flagged off at Shopian
Shopian: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Choudhary Mohammed Yasin today flagged off Fit India Cyclothon here with the motto to keep countrymen fit and help to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety besides other diseases.
The Cyclothon was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports (DYS& S) Department and passed through Batapora Chowk and culminated at Arhama Shopian.
The DC, while speaking on the occasion, said that Cyclothon has been organised with an aim to revive our daily physical fitness programs which otherwise had got deferred due to COVID-19.
He said that another aaom of this event is to engage students in sports activities to keep them physically and mentally fit and advised the students to actively participate in sports and spread the message of fitness in society.
Among others, DYS& S Officer Gurmukh Singh Dutta, District Information Officer, Showkat Ahmad Khan and concerned officers and officials were present on the Occasion.
As many as hundred students from different schools of the district and teenage group participated in the event.
