FP&G department hosts training for Field functionaries of Jammu Division districts

 

JAMMU : Department of Floriculture Parks and Gardens today organised a one day Training cum Exposure Visit Programme for field functionaries from different districts of Jammu division to Green Belt Park and Dhatriyal Marh.

The visit was organised under the guidance of Director Floriculture, Jatinder Singh.

Training was imparted to about 20 officials regarding commercial Floriculture and different components of Centrally Sponsored Schemes that would help them implement these at grassroots level by visiting farmers fields and facilitating enhancement of production & productivity of Floricultural crops and the farmers’ income.

Training was imparted to the participants by Dr R. K. Pandey, Professor SKUAST Jammu, regarding the different Floricultural crops that the farmers would adopt according to the site, market and demand.

Nodal officer CSS, Sunil Singh, while speaking on the occasion, educated the participants regarding installation of poly-house structures, micro-irrigation, nursery raising, medicinal plants, aromatic plants etc.

Others who spoke during the training-cum-awareness programme included Vikrant Sharma, Floriculture Officer Jammu & Shoukat Ali, Assistant Floriculture Officer.
