GCE organizes Essay competition under ‘Aazadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’
Srinagar: In connection with the commemoration of 75 years of India’s Independence, ‘Aazadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’, the NSS unit of Govt. College of Education in collaboration with IQAC today organised an Essay writing competition on the theme, ‘India’s journey of progress over the last 75 years of Independence’ for the students of constituent colleges of Cluster University here.
The event was inaugurated by Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Kanth.
Dr Kanth in her address highlighted the achievements and progression of India in various fields like education, economy, agriculture, science and technology, medicine, space exploration, etc.
She also emphasized the significance of this initiative and encouraged the students for their greater participation in more such upcoming events of the college.
A good number of students participated in this event and expressed their views regarding the theme. The top three positions in the competition were secured by Shafat Akram Raina (B. Ed 3rd Sem), Mehak Fatima (B.Ed 3rd Sem) and Zahid Bashir (IG B. Ed-M. Ed, 3rd Sem) respectively.
In another event of the same programme series, the NSS Unit in collaboration with Department of Art and IQAC organized a painting competition on the theme, ‘India’s Rich Culture & Heritage’ on 10th April, 2021 for the students of constituent colleges of Cluster University, Srinagar.
Fourteen students participated and expressed their artistic interest highlighting the theme of the event.
Out of fourteen, three students namely Qurteeba Qayoom, Nimrah Ali and Sabah Ishtiaq of (IG B.Ed/M.Ed, semester 2nd) of the college bagged First, second and third positions respectively.
