GCW Udhampur starts I-Day week with Rangoli Competition, Run for Country

 

UDHAMPUR : Government College for Women Udhampur today held a Rangoli designing competition for its NCC Cadets in the College premises.

The enthusiastic cadets competed in groups and designed the theme that was in honor of our Independence Day. Their designs ranged from peacocks, flowers to the maps. The judges had a tough time picking the best.

Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the cadets of both the 1st & 2nd J&K NCC Girls Battalion and said, “This Rangoli competition was a great way to remember and celebrate our Independence Day, and also a great chance for the cadets to explore different elements of creativity.”

Meanwhile, the NCC Cadets of 1st and 2nd NCC Girls Bn came up together and started the weeklong celebration of 75th Independence Day by a memorable run – Run for Country.

Principal, Prof. Minu Mahajan, welcomed the cadets in the college who started their run at the early hours of the day from Mini stadium to GCW Udhampur.

(Dr) Kamal Deep Kaur and Prof. Shallu Jasrotia, the NCC Officers of both the battalions accompanied the cadets in this run.

The cadets also participated in campus cleanliness drive wherein they collected all the ignored litter and disposed it. The entire college fraternity congratulated the cadets for this initiative.
