GDC Sunderbani holds series of activities under Know Your Constitution campaign

 

RAJOURI: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani, as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” organised a series of activities under the banner “Know Your Constitution”, here today.

The event witnessed holding of Pledge taking ceremony, Symposium on Child Rights and their safeguards in the Indian Constitution and patriotic (Deshbhakti) songs and poetry competition. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta, Principal of the college.

A large number of students attended the programme which started with pledge taking by all volunteers and faculty members to uphold the Constitution of India.

Dr Vandana Gupta Principal GDC Sunderbani formally welcomed the students. She said that Constitution of India allows equal respect and recognition for all without any discrimination on the basis of caste, colour, creed and gender etc. She said that Constitutions are codes of rules which aspire to regulate the allocation of functions, powers and duties among the various agencies and offices of the government and define the relationships between these and the public.

Waseem Akram, student of Vth Semester secured first position, Sania Jaral and Saloni Sharma of fifth semester shared 2nd position, while Palak Goria of fifth semester bagged third position. Sakshi Sharma, Saloni Sharma, Ansuja Devi and Kajal Sharma participated in singing patriotic (Deshbhakti) songs. At the end Prof. Sham Lal presented a vote of thanks.
