GDC Udhampur holds series of activities to mark International Ozone Day

 

UDHAMPUR: An awareness cum deliberation session on mitigating Ozone depletion was today organised by the NCC Girl Cadets of Government Degree College Udhampur.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief guest and Patron, Principal Prof. Subash Chander.

The students of PG Department of English held Interactive Talk, wrote articles and hosted slogan write competition in Online/ offline Mode. The event was held under the initiative of Shikshit Bharat Abhiyan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Patron congratulated the organizing committee for initiating the noble campaign. He apprised all those present about the necessity of organising such kinds of programmes in the college and all over the country. He said that the time has come to be with one vision yet have diverse thinking and make this nation proud and great with the message of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah” and “Prakriti Devo Bhavah”.

The students of PG English presented attractive Slogans and talks on stopping Ozone depletion by decreasing carbon footprints. The main contributors amongst them were Abdul Salam, Binish Khan, Lakshmi, Rudrakshi, Rudhrika Khajuria, Poonam,Touhida. Priya Salaria, Saniya Bakshi, Reyaz Ahmad and Shubham Bhardwaj .

The NCC Cadets namely cadet Ridham Singh, Preeti Sharma, Sonali, Rimjhim, Nitika Boya, Shriya and Sakshi wrote articles and posted their views on the Digital Platform of NCC and also on Twitter for spreading the awareness on decreasing carbon footprint to save life by saving ozone.

The Programme was coordinated by Dr. Pankaj Sharma, whereas of the NCC was Coordinated by Captain Shivani Sharma. Dr. Pankaj Sharma presented vote of thanks.

The program was attended by Dr. Naresh Sharma, Prof. Reena Bhagat, Dr. Kawaljeet Kour, Prof. Shaji Khan, Dr. Preeti Sharma, Sudesh and a number of other faculty members, students of PG Department of English and NCC cadets with great zeal and enthusiasm.
