GGW campaign: Awareness event on livestock sector employment generation schemes held at Reasi

DC distributes subsidy, farming inputs among farmers

 

REASI : Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries Departments today organised a one day awareness Camp here at Fish Farm Anji Reasi to educate the farmers about their Employment generation schemes.

Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh presided over the function organized as a part of the ongoing Good Governance Week campaign. The departmental stalls showcasing latest techniques/ equipment were displayed during the event.

About 100 farmers including Sarpanches of Panchyat Jerri and Gajore Pouni participated in the camp. The farmers were also given literature/ handouts on the latest techniques of farming.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the farmers to avail the schemes launched by the government to promote self employment under the lucrative livestock development sector. He stressed upon the farming community especially youth to adopt Integrated farming system to increase the farm income. Later, he distributed subsidy assistance and other fish farming inputs to the Carp Fish Pond owners. The subsidy component for first ever Biofloc fish culture unit being established in the District is also provided during the event.

The incentives in the form of polypropylene sheet which work as temporary shelter shed during inclement weather were distributed among the sheep breeders and medicines were also distributed to the Dairy beneficiaries. The progressive farmers of Animal/ Sheep & Fisheries department also shared their experiences and briefed the gathering about the benefits they accrued from the animal rearing activities.
