Golden Jubilee Celebration for SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School
Chennai: The Golden Jubilee celebrations of SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School was inaugurated by Thiru K.A. Sengottaiyan, Honourable Minister of School Education, Tamil Nadu in the presence of Thiru.P.Benjamin, Honourable Minister for Rural Industries, Tamil Nadu along with Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Correspondent – SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School & Chancellor SRM Institute of Science and Technology and Dr. R. Shivakumar, Correspondent – SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
The celebration was held at SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram campus, Chennai. The cultural programme performed by the school students and also other students from SRM Group of Institutions consisted of Dance, Villupattu and Talentia Programme which comprised of Yoga, Silambam, Kathakali, Music & Drama.
The Chief Guest Thiru K.A. Sengottaiyan, Honourable Minister of School Education, Tamil Nadu, “expressed his jubilation to be part of this grand occasion. Recollecting the founder’s tireless effort and indomitable spirit, he acknowledged the service rendered by him in the field of education. He wished that the SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School should achieve many more milestones and continue in its path of service to society. Delivering the Special Address, the Honourable Minister for Rural Industries said that the SRM Nightingale matriculation higher secondary School has been providing holistic education and molding students to emerge as exemplary citizens”.
Thiru.P.Benjamin, Honourable Minister for Rural Industries, Tamil Nadu during the function said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be the part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and wished all the teacher for their educational service”.
Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Founder Correspondent – SRM Nightingale School & Chancellor SRM Institute of Science and Technology while delivering the presidential address said, “Both the government agencies and the SRM group are working with the same vision of putting Tamil Nadu on the global map with respect to quality education. Hereafter Tamil Nadu will not only called as medical hub of India, but sooner it will be known as “Educational Hub of India”.
Dr. R. Shivakumar, Correspondent, SRM Nightingale Matriculation Higher Secondary School felicitated the gathering and said “During the past 50 years of our illustrious career we have produced more than two lakh students who are now settled well in different parts of the world. Throughout these 5 decades SRM Nightingale Mat. Hr. Sec School has been upholding high standards of professional dignity and decorum.
To commemorate this very special occasion, the souvenir PRAGATHI was released. The golden Jubilee report was presented by the Principal. This was followed by cultural program by the school students and prize distribution for the winners.
Staff and students were honoured with prizes for being instrumental in securing centum results in board exams and for scoring centum marks in 10th and 12th exams respectively.
