Gopichand P Hinduja Inaugurates 3rd Edition of IIMK’s International Conclave on ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’; Terms Ahimsa as India’s greatest thought gift to the world
Kozhikode : Mr Gopichand P Hinduja, the co-chairperson of the Hinduja Group inaugurated the 3rd edition of IIMK’s signature International Conclave ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’, here today. Joining virtually from his London abode Mr Hinduja was joined by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode and cine stars and couple co-founders of the Pro-Panja League – Mrs Preeti Jhangiani and Mr Parvin Dabas at the IIM Kozhikode campus.
In his inaugural address, Mr Hinduja championed the five principles of the Hinduja Group with its deep foundation in India’s rich cultural and traditional values as a befitting example of ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’ – Work to give, Word is a bond, Act local Think Global, Partnership for Growth and Advance Fearlessly. He also added “India is known as the land of Buddha and Gandhi and Ahimsa is our greatest gift to the world”. He also congratulated Kerala for topping all social and educational indices and appreciated the state for its innovative steps and committed workforce of expatriates working all over the globe.
Thanking the Guest of Honour Mr Hinduja for gracing the occasion and kick-starting the 3rd edition of IIMK’s International Conclave, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee added “Pluralism and Inclusivity are the two pillars that define globalisation of Indian thoughts. Our investment has to be in education, reimagining the future and finding the strength in our ethos to further propagate the power of Indian Thoughts. IIMK’s core ideas of Satyam (Authenticity), Nityam (Sustainability) and Purnam (Wholeness) are three fundamental elements of Indian ethos and flagbearers of globalizing Indian thought. GIT Conclave is a festival of creative synthesis of ideas and this year IIMK’s four Centres of Excellence – Climate Studies, Governnace, Digital Innovation and Social Innovation – will be at the forefront of path breaking research outputs at this Thought Leadership conclave.”
Mrs Preeti Jhangiani and Mr Parvin Dabas, co-founders of the pro-panja league the pioneers of professional arm wrestling also spoke on the occasion and shared that the Indian Thoughts have the power to take on the world. They passed on the mantra of “Dream Big. Think Big. Innovate and don’t lose zest for life” to the students.
Earlier, Prof. Deepa Sethi (Dean Programmes & International Relations and co-convenor GIT 2022) Prof. Shubhasis Dey (Dean Faculty) and Prof. Anandakuttan Unnithan (Mentor Professor) also addressed the gathering and welcomed the guests.
GIT 2022 will also witness a cultural festival (02-04 Dec) as a collaborative association between Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India), SPIC MACAY and IIMK to feature some of the biggest names displaying various hues of India’s cultural richness – Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia (flute), Warsi Brothers (Qawali), Ustad Bahaudin Dagar (Rudra Veena), Vid. S Sowmya (Carnatic Vocals), Sooraj Nambiar (Kudiyatam).
