Göttingen University Secures First Place in Germany for Agricultural Sciences (including Forest Sciences) and Ecology

In the latest Shanghai Ranking, the subjects of Agricultural Sciences (including Forest Sciences) and Ecology at the University of Göttingen were in first place in Germany. Economics, statistics, mathematics, and geography also achieved leading positions. Agricultural Sciences was ranked 14th and Ecology 24th worldwide.

 

A total of 55 subjects were analysed. The analysis just looks at natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences. Forest sciences are categorised as agricultural sciences in the Shanghai Ranking methodology. Subects in the humanities are not considered for this ranking.

 

In addition to a comparison of the best 1,000 universities worldwide, since 2009, the Shanghai Ranking has also listed a ranking of individual subjects. Indicators for the rankings include research output, research influence, international collaboration, research quality, and international academic awards.
