Governor Lalji Tandon attends concluding ceremony of Khajuraho film festival

Bhopal : Governor Shri Lalji Tandon has said that Khajuraho of Madhya Pradesh is world famous for its unique temples and monuments. We are proud of this world heritage. Events such as the International Film Festival are instrumental in enhancing the reputation of Khajuraho. Such ceremonies are also a means of bringing Indian architecture and archaeological wealth before the world. Governor Shri Tandon was addressing the concluding ceremony of the 5th International Film Festival at Khajuraho today. MP Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma and local public representatives were present in the programme.

Governor Shri Tandon said that the sculptures of Khajuraho and various temples are important heritage and they should be protected. Describing the International Film Festival as worthwhile, the Governor Shri Tandon said that more viewers will reach from year to year to watch the films on display. This effort is also helpful in the development of the region. He congratulated the organizer of the festival Shri Raja Bundela for this effort. The Governor expressed the need for making a special documentary film on Khajuraho. The Governor presented mementoes to the participants of the film festival.

Film maker and organizer of the Mahotsav Shri Raja Bundela said that the festival started in the year 2015. It is also an effort to connect youth to employment and business by connecting them to various aspects of film production. In the coming times, efforts will be made to take the festival to the level of Goa film festival. At the outset, Khajuraho Municipality Chairman Sushri Kavita Singh welcomed the guests.
